Deposit for NYS 16 (2) HR/NRA CCW Course
This is a non-refundable deposit to secure your spot in the NYS 16 (2) HR/NRA CCW Course. However, your deposit may be applied to another class within 12 months from the date of payment, provided that a 48-hour cancellation notice is given before the start of the scheduled class. Classes may be rescheduled once within the 12 months. The remaining balance is due at the beginning of the first class.
Upon completing this combo class, you will meet New York State's requirements for obtaining a NYC or NYS concealed firearm license, valid statewide. Additionally, you will receive the NRA CCW course certificate.
Non-residents of New York can now apply for a NYC Carry License that is valid throughout the state.
Once you obtain your license, you can apply for a non-resident permit in Connecticut, Florida, Virginia, Arizona, Maine, and several other states!
Class Description
This class offers the essential knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The NRA's CCW Course is open to everyone, regardless of prior NRA affiliation or shooting experience. Over several days, participants will receive personalized instruction from a certified NRA instructor, both in the classroom and on a shooting range. Additionally, students will receive reference books to help them prepare for the examination.
Course topics include:
• Mandatory Firearm Safety
• Pistol Nomenclature and Self-defense Pistol Selection
• Drawing from Concealment
• Loading and Stoppage Remediation
• Mindset
• Carry Modes
• Pistol Concealment
• Firearm Cleaning
The instructor sets the course length according to your state’s requirements for a CCW permit.
This course is designed to meet or exceed the NYS Concealed Carry Improvement Act Training Requirements for Initial Licensing and First License Renewal after 09/01/22.
